You may be receiving incoming faxes in the TIF format. These are ‘image’ documents that can be read by 'automated scanners' like the CampMinderFax program, and others.
A recent Windows 11 update is causing issues with TIF formatted faxes. Specifically, the default .TIF viewer may have changed. Now, TIF faxes may not be readable thru your local e-mail / Outlook account.
However, they are still readable thru the automated scanner services.
If you are not seeing this issue your local PC has an updated TIF viewer and you can ignore this recommended update.
Windows may fix this in a future update, but for now, here's the workaround:
Change Default TIFF Viewer:
• IrfanView (free)
• XnView MP (free)
This applies to .TIF documents attached to an incoming e-mail.
With this Windows Update, your default TIF viewer may have changed. If you are having trouble reading faxes delivered to your e-mail you may need to adjust the settings on your local PC. Your System Administrator can easily resolve this.
Save the file to your PC.
- Right click the saved file.
- Select 'Open With'.
- Select Windows Photo Viewer.
You should then be able to view all pages.
